Hairstyling Sedge (Carex capillaris)

Hairstyling Sedge

Description: The hairstyled sedge belongs to the family of sedges. It grows to a height of 30 cm. This grass has light brown leaves. Some of them are curled. The Hairy Sedge flowers from May to June. It is suitable for pots and flower beds with grasses.

Care: The sedge loves sunny locations. In partial shade it can grow too. It is partly evergreen, therefore, in the spring, the stalks are not cut back, but only cleaned up. The hairy sedge is not quite hardy. The roots should be covered with a hill of pine bark and the stalks with twigs or fleece. This sedge prefers moist, fertile, well-drained soil.

Propagation: By seed or by division.

Diseases and pests: Sedges rarely suffer from disease.
